Mundanthurai Wildlife Sanctuary




Mundanthurai Wildlife Sanctuary is located near the Papanasam Falls and is around 45 km from Tirunelveli.

This is a 567 sq km sanctuary with dry deciduous to tropical wet evergreen forests and lies on the Western Ghats. Inhabitants include tiger, bonnet macaque, langurs, slender loris, sloth bear, sambar deer, chital and wild dog. Trekking is possible with prior permission from the Forest Department. October to January is the ideal time to visit.

The sanctuary is around 6 km from Ambasamudram Railway Station.
