Bodinayakkanur is a famous town located in the Theni District and lies on the foothills of Western Ghats.

Bodinayakkanur is a place of historical importance. It was seized by Hyder Ali in 1776 and was ceded to the East India Company in 1793. Surrounded by hills, Bodinayakkanur is a popular market for cardamom, mango, tea, coffee, silk and cotton.

Bodinayakkanur is 90 km west of Madurai.
