Virupakshi




Also spelt as Virupathi, Virupakshi is a small town in Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu. It is on the way to Palani, a famous pilgrim center, from Dindigul. Tangachiyammapatti lies to the north, Chatrapatti to the west, Pachalur to the south and Puduchatram to the east.

The hill station of Kodaikanal can be reached from here. River Nanganjiar, a tributary of Amaravathi River, flows through Virupakshi.

Madurai Airport is 81 km south-east of Virupakshi. Palani Railway Station and Oddam Hatram Railway Station are the nearest railheads. National Highway 209 connects this town with Oddanchatram and Palani.
