Ragi



Ragi crop grows in both kharif and Rabi seasons. It is enriched with proteins, methonine (an amino acid) and calcium. The crop is also used in infant feeding.

Ragi plant is an annual grass, laterally flattened, 60-120 cm tall, and copiously tillering. Depending on variety, season, and soil properties, it takes three to five months to mature. The crop can be harvested when its ears become yellowish brown.
