Amaravathi River




Amaravathi River originates from the Western Ghats and runs through Udumalai in Coimbatore District, Dharapuram in Erode District and through Karur District. It is one of the longest rivers (175 km) in Tamil Nadu, with another name, Pournami. This river nourishes the agriculture of Erode District.

The Amaravathi Dam is situated about 15 km from Udumalpettai in Coimbatore District.
