Pattamadai is located in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the banks of the river Tamiraparani and is famous for Pattamadai Kora Mat, a variety of mat made from the ‘kora’ grass. It is the birth place of Swami Sivananda Saraswati, a saint and philosopher. Swami Sivananda Centenary Charitable Hospital is located here.
