Hindupur is located in the
Anantapur District of
Andhra Pradesh and is 130 km south of
Anantapur.
Hindupur is a business center in Rayalaseema and is situated in close proximity to Lepakshi which is a veritable treasure house of art and sculpture, and Puttaparthi, the abode of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It is also renowned for the idols of Jain Tirthankars. A temple of Bhagvan Parshwanatha in the Kayotsarga posture about 4 ft high is found here.
This place has good transport facilities from Anantapur. Hindupur Railway Station is on the Bangalore-Hyderabad line.
