Pallimadam

Pallimadam, formerly known as Pallippadai, is a little known tourist destination located near Tiruchuli on the banks of the Gundar River in Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu. A sepulchral temple, Kalainathaswamy Koil, dedicated to a 10th century Pandya king, makes this hamlet popular among tourists. Kalainathaswamy Koil, formerly known as Sundara Pandya Isvaramudayar Koil, is the only one of its kind in Tamil Nadu. Madurai Airport and Virudhunagar Junction Railway Station are the major access points to this place. Buses and taxis are available from Virudhunagar town.
