Vangal




Vangal is a beautiful heritage village situated on the banks of Cauvery River in Karur District, Tamil Nadu. It has a rich fertile land with paddy and banana plantations and two canals flowing across the village. It is one of the richest places of Karur with greenery on all sides. The family deity of most of the Vangal families is Kalyana Venkataramanaswami whose temple is at Thanthontri Malai.

The village is situated close to a rural village, Nerur, 6 km away, where the Jeeva Samadhi of Sadashiva Brahmendra is located. A 1000-year-old Pasupathinath temple at Karur is also a nearby attraction.
