Nainarkoil is a sacred spot on the Ramanathapuram-Sivagangai State Highway, at about 24 km from Ramanathapuram. Located in Ramanathapuram District, this town is surrounded by Paramakudi in the west, Ilayangudi of Sivagangai District in the north and Devipattinam in the east. At about 24 km south lies Uthirakosamangai, sacred for Hindus. Erwadi is a nearby Muslim pilgrim center. Tiruvadanai, Thiruvetriyur, Uppoor, Tondi and Tirupullani are interesting tourist destinations. Nearest airport is Madurai Airport. Ramanathapuram Railway Station serves the town.
