Shivasthalam

Shivasthalam is a Sanskrit word that means an ancient and sacred abode of Lord Shiva. This usually refers to the pre-historic Shiva temples of South India. There are hundreds of Shivasthalams, which have been centers of Shaivite worship and culture for centuries. Due to their antiquity, these temples are also invaluable historic relics that are being preserved and cherished all over India.
