Mahabalipuram Beach

Mahabalipuram Beach, 58 km south of Chennai, is famous for its exotic beach along the sparkling waters of Bay of Bengal. The miles of unspoiled blue beach offer good opportunities for surfing and sunbathing.

The major attractions around the beach are the ancient monuments and temples of Mahabalipuram, constructed during the reign of Pallava Dynasty. A crocodile farm, snake venom-extracting center, and schools of art and sculpture along the beach also attract tourists all round the year.

The nearest railway station is at Chengalpattu, which is at a distance of 29 km.
