Tirubhuvanam




Tirubhuvanam is situated about 8 km from Kumbakonam, in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. This small town was built by Kulothunga Cholan-III or Tiribhuvana Chakaravarthy as a memorial to his victory in the war in the North. Major point of attraction is the 13th century Kambasarbeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple of yore is an ideal example of the Chola style of architecture.

Tiruchirapalli Airport serves Tirubhuvanam. Kumbakonam Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
