Kollemcode




Kollemcode is a small sleepy village located at the side of the Arabian Sea in Kanyakumari District. This scenic hamlet is blessed with paddy fields, coconut gardens and extensive green lands. Malayalam and Tamil are the major languages spoken in this area. This place is famous for the traditional Thookam festival which is conducted at Kollemcode Vattavila Sree Bhadrakali Temple. Kollemcode is accessible by bus from Nagercoil, Parassala and Thiruvananthapuram. The Kasargod - Colachel National waterway (Current A.V.M. Canal) which is proposed by the Tamil Nadu Government passes through Kollemcode. Nagercoil Railway Station is the nearest major railway station. The closest airport is the Trivandrum International Airport.
