Pillaiyarpatti is a small town in
Sivagangai District, situated in between
Karaikudi (8 km) and
Pudukkottai. There lies a famous temple called Sri Karpaga Vinayagar Temple (Desigavinayaga Pillaiyar Temple), which is famous for its mahakumbhabishekam. It is said that the town got its name after this temple.
The nearest railhead and airport are at Karaikudi and Tiruchirappalli respectively.
