Maruthuva Malai Shiva Temple




Maruthuva Malai Shiva Temple is a small and ancient shrine situated at Maruthuva Malai Hill in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of the temple. Devotees have to climb up 242 steps to reach this holy temple. Separate shrines are dedicated to Lord Ganesh and Goddess Durga in the temple complex. Garland made of Koovalam is the main offering here. The temple offers beautiful views of sunrise and sunset on the valley below. Nayanar Swamy Ashram is situated at the base of the hill. The temple is located around 7 km from Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari Railway Station, Kanyakumari Central Bus Station and Trivandrum International Airport are the nearest access points.
