Kalligudi




Kalligudi is a small town situated on National Highway 7, near the banks of Gunaar, in Madurai District. Madurai lies about 35 km north-east of Kalligudi.

Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, Tiruparangundram and Pazhamuthircholai are important places worth visiting in the Madurai District. Shenbagathope Grizelled Squirrel Sanctuary, Ayyanar falls and Pilavakkal Dam at Watrap constitute short excursions outside Kalligudi.

Nearest airport is at Madurai. Kalligudi Railway Station is on the Madurai-Virudhunagar railway line of the Southern Railways.
