Hosur




At an altitude of 900 m, Hosur is located in Krishnagiri District and is 42 km south of Bangalore. Hosur is a major industrial hub and has an area of 12.63 sq km with a population of one hundred thousand. The fort at Hosur was a center of action during the Mysore wars.

Gandhi Statue, Bose Bazaar, Lake, Children's Park and Chandira Choodeswarar temple are the prime attractions in Hosur. Thally, near Hosur, with its salubrious climate is referred to as ‘Little England’.

The nearest airport is at Bangalore. Hosur Railway Station is on the Salem-Bangalore line. The National Highway 7 connecting Bangalore to Madurai passes through Hosur.
