Covelong Beach is situated in
Kanchipuram District and is about 40 km south of
Chennai.
The beach is dotted with historical monuments such as forts, churches and mosques. The beach is ideal for windsurfing, swimming and other water sports activities. The beach is separated from the mainland by a canal running from Chennai to Mahabalipuram.
The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation runs a resort here. Mahabalipuram is 19 km south.
