Chidambaram Railway Station



Chidambaram Railway Station is one of the main railway stations in South India. Metre gauge line links Chidambaram with Chennai and Tiruchirapalli (Trichy). Frequent express and passenger trains are available to cities such as Tiruchirapalli, Madurai and Chennai.

Lodgings are offered in nearby hotels. The railway station is close to the Nataraja Temple, famous for Natyanjali festival. Hotel Saradharam, a government approved hotel, is at a stone’s throw from the station.

The Central Bus Station is a few minutes walk from the station. To the north of the station, the major railheads are Cuddalore (47 km) and Pondicherry (68 km.) Going south, Nagapattinam is 104 km from Chidambaram. The airbase close to Chidambaram is Tiruchirapalli Airport (160 km.)
