The Bahai Temple, located at
in South Delhi, is also known as Lotus Temple. This lotus-shaped temple, made up of marble, cement dolomite and sand, is an architectural marvel. It was built in the 1980s and is a prominent spiritual center for the Bahai faith in South Asia. This nine-sided temple is topped with a central dome. People of all faith can enter the temple. The temple is spread over 26 acres, has a height of 35 meters and is surrounded by green lawns and nine pools of water offering a splendid view. As Bahai faith does not believe in idols, the temple has no sermons or ceremonies.
The temple is open on all days, except Monday. With 27 lotus petals and all petals arranged in groups of three along the nine sides of the edifice, the Bahai Temple stands as a landmark monument in Delhi
