Acharapakkam




Acharapakkam, also spelt Achirapakkam, is a small settlement in Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu. It spans over an area of about five sq km. Neighboring towns: Madurantakam (14 km) in the north-east, Vandavasi in the north-west and Tindivanam in the south-west. Aksheeswaraswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the prime attraction here. Acharapakkam is about 90 km from Chennai, 85 km from Ambattur and 9 km from Chittamur. Places of tourist interest near Acharapakkam include Melmaruvathur, Ennairam, Madurantakam Temple, Cheyyur Shiva Temple at Cheyyur and Ekambareswar Temple at Chengalpattu. The nearest airport is Chennai International Airport. Acharapakkam Railway Station serves the town. Acharapakkam is easily accessible from Chengalpattu and Tindivanam by road.
