Aravankadu is located in Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the road to Ooty from Coonoor. This place, also spelt as Aruvankadu, is a township at about 4 km from Wellington. The place derived its name from 'Areenukaadu,' which means a rocky land with forest cover.
