Airavata

In Hinduism, Airavata is a white, heavenly elephant, which emerged during Palazhimathanam, when Indra claimed it as his own. It is also called Abhra-Matanga (elephant of the clouds), Arkasodara (brother of the Sun), and Naga-Malla (the fighting elephant). Airavata guards, protects and defends the east, of which Indra is the guardian deity.
