Tashiding




Tashiding is a tourist spot located in West Sikkim District. It is at an altitude of about 4500 ft above sea level. This hillock place is between Rangit and Rathong rivers.

The main attraction here is the Tashiding Monastery, built by Ngadak Sempa Chempo during the reign of Chagdor Namgyal. Bumchu festival is celebrated in a grand manner at Tashiding. The views of the mountains are also spellbinding.

Tashiding is accessible from Yuksom (16 km) and Geyzing (about 40 km). Daily, one bus operates from Geyzing to Tashiding.
