Kishong Cho Lake




Kishong Cho Lake is located in North Sikkim District, Sikkim. It is also variously called Gem Lake, Kishong Lake and Kishong Tso Lake. The lake lies at an altitude of 14,760 ft above the sea level. The crystal clear simmering lake is surrounded by forests of rhododendron, pine trees and medicinal herbs. The lake is the major source of the Ringpi Chu River. It offers an inspiring view of Kanchenjunga, Siniolchu, Lamo Angden and Temrang peaks. It is an ideal spot for bird watchers and naturalists. Trekking is arranged here.

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra, West Bengal. The nearest railway station is at New Jalpaiguri.
