Ravangla

Rabongla, Ravongla



Ravangla is a small town in South Sikkim District, situated on the ridge between the Maenam and Tendong hills. The Ravangla Bazaar here is quite famous. The surrounding villages of Yangang, Tinkitam, Kewzing, Barfung and Bakhim are ideal for short stays and treks. The mountains, waterfalls, tea gardens, quaint villages, local Sikkimese culture, monasteries, and fresh cold winds create an ambience perfect for village tourism, and wildlife watching and photography.

The Old historical market of Kewzing, Bonn Monastery, Ralong Monastery, Borong Hot springs and Maenam Peak at 10,300 ft holding breathtaking views of Sikkimese Himalayas are the main attractions.

Other interesting sites include Rayong Sunrise View Point, Temi Tea Garden, Ralang hot spring, Mangbrue Gompa and view point. Hotel Mt. Narsing, Hotel Zumthang, and Hotel Ravongla Star provide accommodation at Ravangla.

The nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra near Siliguri in West Bengal. The New Jalpaiguri Station is the nearest railhead.
