Rampol

Rampol is the main entrance of the Chittorgarh Fort (built in the 7th century). It is situated on the western side of the fort.

Rampol, literally means Gate of Ram, can be reached through a one kilometer zigzag ascent through seven gateways. On the way there are two cenotaphs built to honor Jaimull and Kulla, the heroes of 1568 siege, by Emperor Akbar, between the second and third gate.

The Chittorgarh Fort is easily accessible from the Chittorgarh Bus Station. Maharana Pratap Airport is the nearest airport (121 km). Chittorgarh Railway Station is about 6 km from the fort.
