Ranakpur




Ranakpur, located 96 km north of Udaipur, is famous for its Jain temples and palaces. It is considered as one of the five holy places of the Jain community. The city is named after a gifted monarch Rana Kumbha who ruled during the 15th century.

Famous Jain temples of Ranakpur are Varahavtar temple, Chaumukha Temple and Chintamani Parshwanath. Major tourist spots of the town are Maharani Bagh Orhard Retreat and the sun temple, which belongs to the 13th century.

Nearby attractions are Kumbhalgarh, Sadri, Desuri, Narlai, Muchhal Mahavir and an old mosque.

The nearest airport is at Udaipur. The nearby railhead is at Falna.
