Parvati

Also Known by the Names Parashakti, Shakti

Parvati is the daughter of Himalaya, the mountain-god, and consort of Lord Shiva. She is often considered a manifestation of Parashakti, the Supreme Mother Goddess, and worshipped in various forms, under different names, such as Gauri, Durga and Kali. Parvati is also considered the reincarnation of Sati, Shiva's first consort. Gauri is the benevolent form of Parvati, and Kali, the savage aggressive form. Durga, worshipped widely in North India, especially West Bengal, has twelve arms brandishing various weapons including the sword, trident, club, bow, shield, and axe.

Lord Ganesh and Subramanya are Parvati's sons. Both are worshipped widely.
