Paneer, defined as an Indian cheese, is a versatile dairy product used all over India, in some form or other. It is made by curdling milk, tying the chenna (residue) in cloth and placing under pressure to solidify. This is used in the preparation of popular desserts, sweets, snacks or gravy vegetable dishes. It is also spelled as panir or paner.
