National Highway 15




National Highway 15 links Pathankot in Punjab with Samakhiali near Kandla in Gujarat. This 1,526 km-long road spans across the states of Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat and touches some major district headquarters towns and cities on its way.

National Highway 15 starts at Pathankot and runs south-west through Dina Nagar, Gurdaspur and Dhariwal to reach Amritsar, the length of the section being 110 km. The highway then turns south, passes through Taran Taran, Faridkot and Goniana, again turns direction to become west-bound at Bathinda and leaves Punjab past Malot and Abohar, near Jandwala, to enter Rajasthan. National Highway 15 has a total length of 350 km in Punjab. It crosses National Highway 10 near Malot.

In Rajasthan, Ganganagar is the first major town one comes across while traveling along the National Highway 15. The highway then continues its way down south-west through Suratgarh, Bikaner and Nokhra to reach Phalodi and then westwards up to the medieval desert city of Jaisalmer. It then turns south-bound and runs through Khoral, Barmer and Dhorimanna to enter Gujarat past Sanchor. National Highway 15 is 906 km long in Rajasthan.

In Gujarat, National Highway 15 runs past Tharad, Radhanpur and Santalpur, across the Rann of Kuch, and through Chitrod and Lakadia, before terminating at Samakhiali. The highway has a total length of 270 km in Gujarat.
