Khimsar




Khimsar is a fortified Rajasthani township located in Nagaur District. It lies about 45 km south-west of Nagaur and 90 km east of Jodhpur, on the Jodhpur-Bikaner highway.

This entrenched township was founded approximately 2000 years ago by Lord Mahavir. Major point of attraction is the Khimsar Fort, a 16th century fort known for its architecture and great heterogeneity.

Other places of tourist interest are a museum, the Fateh Mahal and the Jain Temples. Excursions to the Deshnok Devi at Deshnok and the Jain Temples at Osiyan will be an enchanting experience.

Nearest airport is Jodhpur Airport (90 km).Nagaur Railway Station is about 45 km away. Buses are frequently available from the Khimsar Bus Station to Jodhpur, Bikaner, Osiyan and Nagaur.
