Jawai Dam




Built during the first half of the 20th century, Jawai Dam is situated in Sumerpur of Pali District. It is set amid the scenic surroundings of rocky hills. One of the biggest dams in Rajasthan, Jawai forms the main water supply source of Pali and Jodhpur districts.

The hills adjoining the dam inhabit panther, bear, wolf, jackals and jungle cat. A sight to behold is the crocodiles basking on the dam shores. Besides, the rare species of birds such as sarus crane, barheaded geese and comb duck flock here during winter.
