Vyas Chhatri

The cenotaph of Sage Vyas

Vyas Chhatri is the cenotaph of Sage Vyas, the author of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, the longest scripture in the world with about 300,000 verses. He dictated the Mahabharata to Ganesh, the god with an elephant head. The place is also known as Sunset Point as it gives a wonderful view of picturesque Jaisalmer at dusk.

Jaisalmer is connected by rail with Jodhpur (326 km), which in turn is connected with major cities and towns in India.
