Desert Festival of
Rajasthan is celebrated during January and February and lasts for three days. During these days, the sands around
Jaisalmer come to life with the brilliant colour, music and laughter. The festival showcases the ethnic culture of Rajasthan.
The famous 'Gair' and 'Fire' dances, folk dances and camel races are staged. It is also a time to enjoy camel rides. Folk arts are also performed by the artist on the sand dunes. The high points of the festival are turban-tying competitions, tug of war, Mr Desert competitions, snake charmers, puppeteers and acrobats. A trip to the Sam Sand Dunes marks the grand finale.
