Aarti

Aarti is a Hindu ceremony performed during pujas to appease a deity. During Aarti, light from wicks soaked in ghee or camphor is moved in a circular motion in front of the deities. It is usually performed twice daily - in the morning and evening. It is thought to have descended from the Vedic concept of fire rituals or homa.
