Kirti Stambh

Kirti Stambh, also known as Tower of Fame, is a 22 m high, seven storeyed tower, built in the Solanki style in the fort of Chittorgarh. The tower is dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain teerthankar(teacher), whose statue is enshrined in the niches on the four faces at the second floor.

This Jain tower has a complicated structure with carvings, niches and balconies. The carvings on the tower are the naked figures of various Jain teerthankars. The top most floor of the tower is an observation hall, which offers great views not only of the citadel but also of the surrounding area. There is a narrow staircase which leads to the top of the tower.

The nearest airport is at Udaipur, 112 km, and the rail head of Chittorgarh is 6 km away from the fort. Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, is 345 km from Chittorgarh. Chittorgarh is linked by regular bus services with the major cities around.
