Fatehpur

Fatehpur was established in the mid 15th century by a Kayamkhani Nawab, and Shekhawati Rajputs took it over in the 18th century. This town was home to rich merchants whose opulence is evident from the richly painted havelis of Poddars, Choudhuri, and the Ganeriwalas families.

Fatehpur's frescoes splendidly combine Indian and Western styles. Prime attractions of this town are Ram Gopal Mahavir Prasad Goenka Haveli, Hukmi Chand Choudhri Haveli, Jalan, and Bharatiiya Haveli. These magnificent buildings have intricate mirror work and Japanese tiles carrying Mount Fuji's paintings. The 17th century step-well here is another site of tourist interest.

The town is 40 km from Sikar.
