Dundlod




Dundlod is a small town situated at the heart of the Shekhawati region and is renowned for its rich culture and heritage. The painted havelis of Dundlod makes it a picturesque spot. Major attraction of the town is Dundlod fort which dates back to the 16th century. Built by a Rawal king, it is an excellent example of Rajputana and Mughal Schools of architecture. Now this fort is converted into a hotel.

Other attractions of Dundlod are Jagathia Haveli, Satyanarayan Temple, Tuganram Goenka Haveli, The Chokhani, Ladia and Saraf havelies, Diwan-I-Khas (an audience hall) and Kila of Dundlod, the 17th century Rajputana fort. A temple dedicated to Shiva is also a worth visit. Mandawa is 30 km southeast of Dundlod and is famous for its fort and havelis. Jhunjhunu, Nawalgarh and Mukundgarh are the nearby attractions. Best time to visit Dundlod is from October to March.

Accomodation facilities are available at Dundlod castle and Dera Dundlod Kila.

Sanganer Airport is the nearest airport. Dundlod has a railway station. Dundlod can be reached by road from New Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner.
