Chikki




Chikki is a mixture of hand picked groundnuts and jaggery paste. This is a traditional ready-to-eat sweet-meat item in India, having many local names. There are different varieties of Chikki depending upon the ingredients used. Commonly used ingredients are puffed/ roasted Bengal gram, groundnut, sesame, puffed rice, beaten rice, and copra or coconut scrapping. Jaggery is the usual sweetening agent used to make these candies.
