Baropal Lake




Baropal Lake is situated on Suratgarh - Rawatsar road, 20 km away from Suratgarh town, a sub divisional headquarters of Ganganagar District of Northern Rajasthan. Nature lovers flock to this place because of its large concentration of flamingoes. In this brackish-water lake, one can see flamingoes at a distance of 30 m from the land. Apart from flamingoes, Baropal Lake and its adjoining wetlands attract a number of migratory species such as demoiselle cranes, bareheaded geese, spot bill duck, mallard common teal, common pochard, pin tail, shoveller, tufted duck, wigeon, avocet, green shank and coots.

The best time to visit this lake is from October to March. Nearest airport is at Jodhpur. Hanumangarh Junction Railway Station is the closest major railway station .
