Khetri Mahal

Wind Palace

Khetri Mahal, also known as Wind Palace, is a monument located on the western part of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Jhunjhunu is 180 km north of Jaipur.

The palace was built in 1760 by Bhopal Singh, founder of Khetri. Though not in the greatest state, it is architecturally the most sophisticated building in the region. The entire building reflects the Shekhawati style of design.

Khetri Mahal consists of lovely halls with graceful arches and pillars. Maharaja Sawai Pratap of Jaipur got inspired by this mahal and constructed the imposing Hawa Mahal in 1799.
