Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake, on whose bank the serene town of Pushkar lies, is an important destination of Rajasthan.

A sacred spot for Hindus, this lake is believed to have been created by the lotus, which fell from the hand of Lord Brahma. It is surrounded by hills on three sides and desert on the other side.

Around this semi-circular lake, there are 52 ghats. People have a holy dip during Pushkar Fair in this lake. This holy dip is believed to confer salvation.
