Ropar Archaeological Museum




Ropar Archaeological Museum is situated at Rupnagar, formerly known as Ropar, in Punjab. The museum exhibits materials belonging to Harappan and other ancient cultures including Painted Grey Ware Culture(1000 BC – 700 BC), Northern Black Polished Ware Culture (600 BC – 200 BC), Early Historical (200 BC – AD 600) and Early Medieval (AD 700 - AD 1200).

Stone implements, ornaments and arrow-heads excavated after Independence are the other artifacts on display.

Ropar Archaeological Museum is situated about 42 km from Chandigarh and 290 km from Delhi, on the way to Anandpur Sahib.
