Mansa District



Mansa District of Punjab was formerly a part of the Bathinda District. It has an area of over 2,170 sq km with a population around a million. The district lies on the rail line between Bathinda-Jind- Delhi sections and on Barnala- Sardulgarh-Sirsa Road.

The climate is extremely hot and dry in summer, and cold in winter. The Ghaggar River is passing through the Sardulgarh block. The major crops are pulses, oilseeds, sugarcane, gram, green fodders, vegetables, gardening and forestry.

Major attractions are the Samadhi of Bhai Gurdas, where a large fair is held every year in March-April and Gurdwara Patshahi Nauvin.
