Samana in Punjab is an old town dating back to 1000 AD, near Patiala. It lies 27 km away to the south-west of Patiala. In and around this town lie many ruins, which show the antiquity of this town and trace its history to the days of Raja Jaipal, who ruled over here. Samana is rated more ancient than even Patiala and other important cities.
Samana is well linked to nearby cities and towns by road. Patiala Railway Station on the Rajpura-Dhuri line serves this area. The nearest airport is at Chandigarh.
