Sangrur District



Sangrur District is located on the southern part of Punjab. It is surrounded by the districts Ludhiana on the northern region, Moga in the north-west, Fatehgarh Sahib in the north-east, Patiala on the southern part, Mansa in the south-west, and Bathinda on the western zone. It also borders the state of Haryana in the south. Sangrur is spread over an area of 5,021 sq km and has a population of about 2 million.

The region has arid and brown soil, which varies from sandy loam to clayey. The main tourist attractions Banasar Garden, Jama Masjid Malerkotla, Forts at Badrukhan and Bagrrian, Sheesh Mahal at Malerkotla, and Gurdwara of Nankiana Sahib.
