Bodal

Bodal is a historic village situated about 4 km south of Dasuya, Hoshiarpur District. It is one of the major Sikh sites in Punjab. Tradition has it that Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru, had sanctified this village with his presence during a hunting expedition. There is an ancient garana tree (Capparis horrida), about 200 m south-west of Bodal, where the guru rested during his visit. Major attraction is the Gurdwara Garna Sahib. During the major Sikh anniversaries, a large number of devotees assemble at Bodal for the celebration. Among these festivals, Baisakhi Festival, celebrated in mid April, has special significance. Amritsar International Airport is the nearest airport.
