Dakhni




Dakhni, a charming village, is situated in Jalandhar District of Punjab. It is on the Nakodar- Kapurthala road, about 12 km from Nakodar.

The village has great historical importance and Dakhni Sarai is a major attraction here. This massive sarai is believed to have been constructed during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, about AD 1640.

The tombs of Haji Jamal and Muhammad Momin and the 17th century Mughal Bridge are nearby places worth visiting.

The nearest airport is at Ludhiana. Nakodar Junction Railway Station on the Jalandhar-Nakodar-Ludhiana line of the Northern Railways serves this area.
